Details:

At 11:45 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist in the evacuation of a person who had fallen and injured their hand near Messack Point. The Portscatho Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team were also tasked to assist.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 11:53 and arrived on scene off Messack Point at 12:01. After a short search the casualty was located about 800m North of Messack Point on the coastal path. Two casualty care trained crewmembers were placed ashore to assess the casualty and to decide on the best method of extraction. Having discussed the plan with the Coastguard Team it was decided to walk the casualty to Messack Point where she was transferred to the Inshore Lifeboat at 12:50. The casualty was then taken on the Inshore Lifeboat back to the lifeboat station where the casualty was landed and taken to hospital by her daughter.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 13:20 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 13:40.
