Inshore lifeboat (Launched 15:30 / Returned 16:35) – Diane Bush (Helmsman), Josh Beardmore, Jamie Wakefield

Details:

At 15:24 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following reports of three people were in the water having fallen from their Kayaks at Lambe Creek opposite Malpas on the Truro River.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 15:30 and having headed up the Carrick Roads and Fal River arrived on scene at 15:43. It was found that a local boat had already recovered the casualties onto the pontoon at Malpas so having checked that the casualties did not need any medical assistance at 15:05 the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 16:35, being refuelled and ready for service by 16:50.

The three Kayakers were wearing buoyancy aids but were cold and wet. The help of the local resident in their boat was very much appreciated.
