At 18:05 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched after the Coastguard received a Pan Broadcast reporting a person had fallen into the water off Trebah Beach in the Helford Estuary.
The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 18:10 and having rounded Pendennis Point headed across Falmouth Bay arriving on scene off Trebah Beach at 18:20. The casualty had fallen out of their tender and had been unable to get back on board so the crew of the yacht had secured the casualty with a rescue strop. While the Inshore Lifeboat was on route a passing Rigid Inflatable had assisted in getting the casualty on board the yacht. Two Casualty Care trained lifeboat crew were placed on board the yacht to assess the casualty. Although they were cold and tired no further medical assistance was required so at 18:50 the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station.
The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 19:06 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 19:15.
