At 18:10 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist in the recovery of a dog over the cliff at Ravens Hole, between Portscatho and Greeb Point. The Portscatho Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team were already on scene.
The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 18:20 and having rounded Zone Point headed up to the East arriving on scene at 18:31. The cliff team had put a team member over the cliff to recover the dog and both were lowered to the beach below where they were recovered to the Inshore Lifeboat and taken back to Portscatho where they were safely landed at 19:32, the Inshore Lifeboat being then released to return to its station.
The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 19:45 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 20:00.
The dog, a cockapoo was uninjured, and the owners were very thankful for the assistance given by the Cliff Team and Inshore Lifeboat crew.
