Inshore lifeboat (Launched 14:32 / Returned 15:15) – Diane Bush (Helmsman), Tom Bird, Claire Angove

Details:

Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was on its slipway being prepared following an earlier service when at 14:29 Falmouth Coastguard called them on the radio to request that they launch to assist a sailing dinghy which had capsized off the North Bank Buoy in the Carrick Roads.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 14:32 and arrived on scene in the Carrick Roads at 14:35. The upturned dinghy was towed into deeper water where it was righted before being towed back to Restronguet Sailing Club where it and its two occupants were landed ashore safely at 15:00, the Inshore Lifeboat being released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 15:15, being refuelled and ready for service by 15:30.

The two occupants of the dinghy were well equipped but had capsized following equipment failure which also prevented them from righting the dinghy.
