Falmouth’s Inshore Lifeboat was launched at 13:09 to help with the medical evacuation of a casualty who had become unwell on the rocks below the seawall at St Mawes. The Portscatho Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team was also tasked to assist along with and Ambulance and paramedics. The Inshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at 13:19 and placed two crew members ashore to assist with the evacuation. The casualty was transferred on a stretcher to the Inshore Lifeboat and was taken to St Mawes Beach where they were carried up the path to the waiting ambulance. The Inshore Lifeboat was released at 13:53 to return to its station where it was recovered onto its slipway at 14:11.
The was the first shout for the stations new Atlantic 85 Inshore Lifeboat “Robina Nixon Chard” (B-916) since it officially took over as the stations Inshore Lifeboat on the evening of 21 August.
