Details:

At 20:32 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist a Dory with two persons on board which had reported being broken down and drifting off Trefusis Point.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 20:38 and arrived on scene at 20:45. A line was passed to the boat and at 20:55 the inshore lifeboat started to tow the casualty heading up the Penryn River to the pontoons at Freeman’s Wharf where the boat safely moored at 21:10, the Inshore Lifeboat being released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 21:22 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 21:40.

The dory had suffered engine failure and had used a mobile phone to request assistance.
