Vessel Moondance aground

At 17:24 Falmouth Coastguard requested the launch of Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat following a report that the 9m vessel Moondance was aground off Point Quay in the Restronguet Creek with a falling tide. The vessel had seven people on board including two who were disabled. The Falmouth Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team was also tasked to assist.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 17:28 and arrived on scene at 17:40. The vessel was found to be unmanned and it was soon confirmed that the seven people had made their own way ashore. As no further assistance was required at 17:55 the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 18:15 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 18:30.
