At 15:53 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist three women and their dog stuck at the base of the cliff below the Portscatho NCI Lookout at Pednvaden near Porthcurnic Beach. The Portscatho Coastguard Cliff Recue Team was also tasked to assist.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 16:00 and having rounded Zone Point headed up to the east arriving on scene at 16:15. A crew member was landed onto the rocks to brief the casualties before they were transferred with their dog to the Inshore Lifeboat. At 16:20 they were on board the lifeboat and they were then taken to Portsactho where they were safely landed into the care of the coastguard team at 16:25, the Inshore Lifeboat then being released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway at 16:45 where it was refuelled, rehoused and ready for service by 17:00.

The mother and daughter along with her friend had been exploring the coastline with their dog when they found that they were unable to make their way back up the cliff, so had requested assistance
