Details:

At 11:39 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist the 11m yacht Ethel with two people on board which had become fouled on fishing gear off August Rock at the entrance to the Helford River.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 11:53 and headed across Falmouth Bay arriving on scene off August Rock Buoy at 12:04. Once the yacht had been freed from the fishing gear it was taken in tow and at 12:58 was safely secured to a visitors mooring in the Helford River, the Inshore Lifeboat being then released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was recovered onto its slipway at 13:26 where the lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 13:47.

This is the second vessel to become fouled on fishing gear in this area in the last two days.
