Fishing Boat Sterennyk with engine failure

Details:

At 13:37 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth all-weather lifeboat be launched to assist the 9m Fishing Boat Sterennyk which had reported suffering engine failure 2 miles South of Pendennis Point.

The all-weather lifeboat which left its pontoon berth at 13:48 and headed out into Falmouth Bay arriving on scene at 14:00. The fishing boat had managed to restart its engine so it was agreed to escort the vessel into the Fal Fish Wharf in Falmouth Docks. Once the fishing boat was safely alongside at 14:24 the all-weather lifeboat was released to return to its station.

The all-weather lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth at 14:35, with the lifeboat being refuelled and ready for service by 14:50.

The fishing boat which had two persons on board is believed to have suffered fuel issues which they had managed to fix by the time the lifeboat arrived on scene.
