Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat was launched at 14:49 following a report from the Dive Rigid Inflatable Moody Blue of a capsized sailing yacht off Porthkerris in Falmouth Bay.

The lifeboat arrived on scene at 15:18 to find the casualty was in fact a Merlin Rocket Sailing Dinghy. Both casualties had been recovered from the water by the Dive RIB but they were unable to right the dinghy. The Coast Medic Rigid Inflatable was also standing by to assist as required. The two casualties were transferred onto the All Weather Lifeboat and then the Coast Medic RIB towed the upturned dinghy into the shelter of Porthoustock where it was eventually righted with the help of crew from the lifeboat. Once the dinghy and its occupants had been safely returned to the beach at Porthoustock the All Weather Lifeboat was released at 16:30 to return to its station.

The lifeboat was back at its pontoon berth for 17:01 and was refuelled and ready for service by 17:15.
