Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat was launched at 18:13 to go to the assistance of the 31 foot yacht ""White Satin"" which had suffered engine failure and been driven ashore under the Idle Rocks Hotel at St Mawes.

The lifeboat arrived on scene at 18:25 and launched the lifeboats inflatable Y Boat to assess the situation. The lifeboat was manoeuvred in the shallow water into a position where a towline could be passed from the lifeboat bow to the casualty. Once the towline was secured the yacht was slowly eased off the rocks, with the Y Boat standing by to evacuate the five persons onboard the yacht if required. Once the yacht was clear of the rocks it was towed back to Falmouth where she was safely berthed at Port Pendennis Marina at 19:15.

The Offshore Lifeboat then returned to station where it was refuelled and ready for service by 19:32.
