At 20:13 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched to assist the single-handed skipper of the 41ft Yacht Sillouette, which had a fouled propeller and required assistance to enter harbour. The yacht which was off the Manacles was on passage from the Azores and the skipper was very tied and fatigued.

The All Weather Lifeboat left her berth at 20:25 and arrived on scene off the Manacles at 20:45. A towline was passed and the yacht was taken in tow for Falmouth where it was safely berthed alongside the Port Pendennis marina at 21:35.

The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 21:39, where it was ready for service by 21:55.
