At 18:29 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat be launched to assist the 32ft Yacht ""Peerless 2"" with one person onboard which had fouled its propeller and rudder on a Lobster Pot Marker 1= miles Southeast of Greeb Point. The Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was also launched to assist.

The Offshore Lifeboat left her pontoon berth at 18:41 and made best speed to the casualties' position. The Offshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at 19:01, and stood by while the crew of the Inshore Lifeboat attempted to clear the rope. At 19:04 the boat was clear of the obstruction and once the engine and steering had been checked, the Offshore Lifeboat was released to return to station at 19:10, while the Inshore Lifeboat remained to escort the yacht back to the mouth of the Helford River.

The Offshore Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 19:40, where it was refuelled and ready for service by 11:30.
