At 14:40 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather be launched to assist the 20ft Yacht Naomi, which had two persons onboard. The yacht had suffered engine failure and reported that she was drifting ashore in the Helford River. The Fishing Vessel Talisman also offered to assist and the Falmouth Coastguard Mobile was tasked.

The All Weather Lifeboat left its berth at 14:50 and headed across Falmouth Bay arriving in the Helford River at 15:10. The lifeboat headed up river and located the Naomi on a mooring at the entrance to Port Navas Creek having been assisted by a passing rigid inflatable. Once the lifeboat crew had checked that no further assistance was required the lifeboat was released to return to station at 15:30.

The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 16:00, where it was ready for service by 16:15.
