At 03:15 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched to assist the Yacht La Promesse, which had reported being entangled on a pot marker off St Anthony Head.

The All Weather Lifeboat left her berth at 03:28 and arrived on scene at 03:44. Members of the lifeboat crew were placed onboard the yacht, and it was soon found that the rope had fouled both the yachts long racing keel and its rudder and propeller. Eventually the rope was cut free and the yacht was taken in tow, being safely berthed at port Pendennis Marina at 05:30.

The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 05:40, where it was ready for service by 06:00.
