Boat: All Weather Lifeboat Crew: Alan Barnes (Coxswain), Snowy Angove, David Proud, Mark Pollard, Alan Rowe, Alistair Heane, John Lower, Diane Bush, Andy Jenkins Location: Between Swanpool and Gyllyngvase Shout Date: 30/03/2004 (All day) Weather:SE 5, Rough Sea, Good Visibility, Sunny Periods At 06:55 Falmouth Coastguard requested that both the Falmouth Inshore and Offshore Lifeboats be launched following a report of a 25ft yacht on the rocks between Swanpool and Gyllyngvase. The Falmouth Coastguard Mobile was also been tasked to assist. The Offshore Lifeboat left her berth at 07:06 shortly after the Inshore Lifeboat had arrived on scene. The yacht was located on the rocks with no sign of occupation. Members of the Coastguard Cliff Team made there way along the rocks and were able to confirm that no one was onboard. At 07:16 the Offshore Lifeboat arrived on scene and following concern that the public could be at risk if the yacht was left where it was, the Coastguard and Harbour Master decided that an attempt should be made to refloat the yacht. It was later confirmed that the yacht Ezebreeze had broken free from its mooring at St Mawes. Inshore Lifeboat crewmember Carl Beardmore was placed ashore and with the help of two of the coastguard team a towing bridle was prepared. Using a rocket line from the Offshore Lifeboat a towline was secured to the yacht. As the tide rose, conditions on the yacht deteriorated and eventually all three on board had to evacuate the yacht for their own safety, making it safely ashore at 09:35. Eventually the yacht was refloated at 09:53 and was towed off the rocks by the Offshore Lifeboat assisted by the Inshore Lifeboat, which transferred two crewmen and a salvage pump to the yacht. The yacht was towed to Mylor Yacht Harbour where she was lifted out the water at 11:22. The Offshore Lifeboat was released to returned to station while the Inshore Lifeboat remained to collect the two crew and the salvage pump. The Offshore Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 11:44, where it was ready for service by 12:15.
