Boat: All Weather Lifeboat
Crew: Alan Barnes (Coxswain), Roger McClarity, Tim Julian, John Murray, Peter Wood, Mark Pollard, Carl Beardmore
Location: Off Entrance to Falmouth Harbour
Shout Date: 24/08/1999 (All day)
Weather:W 1, Slight Sea, Very Poor Visibility, Thick Fog

Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat was launched at 12:30 to assist the yacht Dream which had suffered mechanical failure while approaching the entrance to Falmouth Harbour in thick fog and light airs. Although the yacht which had six persons onboard was not in any immediate danger, she was concerned that she would have difficulty negotiating the harbour entrance under sail and if she remained off the entrance was in danger of being run down by other vessels in the very poor visibility.

The lifeboat arrived on scene at 12:50 and took the yacht in tow for Falmouth where she was safely moored by 13:30. The lifeboat was then released to return to station.

The Offshore Lifeboat returned to station at 13:40, where it was refuelled and ready for service by 14:00.
