Boat: All Weather Lifeboat Crew: Peter Wood (Coxswain), Snowy Angove, David Proud, Mark Pollard, Alan Rowe, John Blakeston, Michael Lowres Location: 2 miles South West of Dodman Point Shout Date: 15/04/2004 (All day) Weather:SW 6, Moderate Sea, Good Visibility, Showers At 12:49 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat be launched to assist the 28ft Yacht Calman, which had reported suffering steering failure in a position = mile South West of Gull Rock. The yacht was on charter and had four people onboard. The Offshore Lifeboat left her berth at 12:57 and eventually located the yacht in a position 2 miles South West of Dodman Point at 13:31. The yacht was taken in tow back to Falmouth where the tow was handed over off Falmouth Docks to a RIB from the yacht charter firm at 16:03. The yacht had suffered steering difficulties when the yachts jib sheet had been allowed to go overboard and had fouled both the propeller and rudder. The Offshore Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 16:15, where it was ready for service by 16:30.
