At 18:02 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat be launched to assist the 39ft yacht Bluebell that was becalmed and had suffered engine failure 6 miles South East of Dodman Point.

The Offshore Lifeboat left her berth at 18:16 and arrived on scene at 19:01. A towline was passed and at 19:15 the tow back to Falmouth was commenced. At 21:10 the casualty was safely berthed alongside the Port Pendennis Marina and the Offshore Lifeboat was released to return to station.

The Offshore Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 21:15, where it was refuelled and ready for service by 21:30.
