At 19:08 Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was returning from a previous incident, when she was requested by the Coastguard to investigate a report of a working boat drifting off Greenbank Quay, Falmouth Inner Harbour.

The Inshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at 19:12 to find the working boat ""Winnie"" just about to go aground to the North of Greenbank Quay. The ""Winnie"" had parted her mooring and was drifting ashore with the strong Easterly wind. A crewman from the Inshore Lifeboat was placed onboard the ""Winnie"" and a towline was passed. The ""Winnie"" was towed clear of the shoreline and placed on an empty mooring nearby. Once the boat was safely secured at 19:25 the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to station.

The Inshore Lifeboat returned to station at 19:30, where it was refuelled and ready for service by 19:45.
