Yacht Magic Dragon requiring assistance

At 17:38 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched to assist the 18m Yacht Magic Dragon with four persons on board which had suffered engine failure and required assistance to in entering the harbour.
The All Weather Lifeboat left its pontoon berth at 17:50 and headed out into the bay, rendezvousing with the Magic Dragon six miles south of Pendennis Point. Once the lifeboat arrived on scene at 18:09 the yachts crew furled the sails and prepared to take a tow. By 18:18 a line had been passed to the yacht and the tow into Falmouth Harbour had commenced. The yacht was towed into the inner harbour where with the assistance of the stations boarding boat the yacht was placed on a mooring in Falmouth Docks at 18:50 and then both boats were released to return to its station.
The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth at 18:56, where the lifeboat was refuelled and ready for service by 19:15.
The Yacht Magic Dragon had been on passage down the English Channel when in a position 70 miles south of the Lizard due to mechanical failure the yacht diverted towards Falmouth. Due to the loss of its engine its skipper had requested assistance to enter the harbour.
