Having assisted in the refloating of a grounded yacht the Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat was then tasked at 18:55 to a 5m Dory which had broken down near the Vilt Buoy in the Carrick Roads.
While the All Weather Lifeboat recovered its tow line the lifeboats small inflatable Y-Boat proceed to the boat and stood by until the lifeboat arrived on scene at 19:00. A line was passed to the boat and it was towed to Mylor Yacht Harbour where the lifeboats Y-Boat took over towing the boat to the small boat slipway. Having recovered the Y-Boat at 19:33 the All Weather Lifeboat was released to return to its station.
The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth at 19:53, where the lifeboat was refuelled and ready for service by 20:05.
The Dory with two persons and a dog on board had been on a fishing trip when its outboard motor failed so they contacted the coastguard for assistance.
