Boat: Inshore Lifeboat Crew: Luke Wills (Helmsman), Jonathan Hackwell, James Box Location: Restronguet Creek Shout Date: 11/05/2008 (All day) Weather:N 4, Slight Sea & Swell, Good Visibility, Sunny Periods Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was on exercise in the Truro River near Malpas when at 10:49 Falmouth Coastguard received a number of 999 calls reporting two people in the water from a capsized tender in the Restronguet Creek. The Inshore Lifeboat was requested to proceed to assist. The Inshore Lifeboat was underway by 10:50 heading back down the River Fal as quickly as possible. The lifeboat arrived on scene at 11:05 to find that the two people had been rescued by members of the public and had been taken to the Pandora Inn pontoon. Having checked that the tow casualties did not need any medical attention the Inshore Lifeboat proceeded to recover the tender, which was taken back to the pontoon. Having obtained details of the casualties and those who had helped them the Inshore Lifeboat was released to continue its exercise at 11:19. The couple had been trying to get onboard a yacht when they had accidentally capsized their tender and ended up in the water. They had been unable to get back onboard and had been recovered by members of the public who were nearby and had seen their predicament.
