At 15:33 Falmouth Coastguard requested that the Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following a call from two persons cut off by the tide at the base of the cliffs between Gyllyngvase and Swanpool. The Falmouth Coastguard Mobile was also tasked to assist.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 15:37 arriving on scene at 15:41. The inshore lifeboat approached the cliff bow first and both casualties were recovered onto the lifeboat. They were landed at Swanpool beach into the care of the local coastguard who took their details and gave them suitable safety advise. The inshore lifeboat was released to return to station at 15:55.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 16:04 where it was refuelled, rehoused and was ready for service by 16:20.

Both casualties were local and had been caught out by the incoming tide, and were suitably embarrassed by the whole incident.
