Falmouth Atlantic 75 class inshore lifeboat - RNLB Eve Pank (B756)

At 15:34 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following a call from the NCI lookout on Nare Point reporting two Kayakers in difficulties off Rosemullion Head.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 15:40 arriving on scene at 15:48. An initial search of the area around Rosemullion Head could not locate the Kayakers so the search was extended down wind towards Maenporth. At 16:16 the Kayakers were located on Maenporth Beach and it was confirmed that everyone was accounted for. At 16:33 the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 16:45 where it was refuelled, rehoused and was ready for service by 17:00.

The Kayakers were returning from a trip to the Manacles when they had been spotted by the NCI lookout. Although the weather conditions had deteriorated they were well experienced were able to handle the conditions. This was a false alarm with good intent.
