At 21:31 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat be launched to assist two elderly people who were stuck on a yacht off Greatwood Manor, and were suffering from the effects of the cold.

The Offshore Lifeboat left her berth at 21:45 and headed up river. Due to the state of the tide, the Lifeboat had to remain in the deep water channel, and at 22:02 the Y-Boat was launched to assist the two crew members. Once they had located the yacht the two elderly people were transferred to Mylor Harbour, where they were met by other relatives. At 22:40 the Y-Boat returned to the lifeboat and was recovered, and the Lifeboat was released to return to station.

The Offshore Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 23:10, where it was refuelled and ready for service by 23:25.
