At 00:44 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched to assist in the search for a person possibly in the water in Falmouth Inner Harbour. Falmouths Inshore Lifeboat and Falmouth Coastguard mobile were already searching the harbour and the Falmouth Pilot Boat Arrow was asked to assist.

The All Weather Lifeboat left its berth at 00:56, and commenced a search of the moorings in the harbour and the area surrounding the docks. A comprehensive search of the harbour was carried out, with nothing been found so at 01:45 the search was called off until further information was available

The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 01:47. The lifeboat was then refuelled, and was ready for service by 02:00.
