Falmouth Severn class all weather lifeboat - RNLB Richard Cox Scott (17-29)

At 20:52 Falmouth Coastguard requested that both the Falmouth All Weather and Inshore Lifeboats be launched following a request from the police for assistance in locating an elderly person reported overdue from the Greenbank Hotel. The Falmouth Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team and Mobile were also tasked to assist along with various police units.

Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat left its pontoon berth at 20:59 and made its way to the Prince of Wales Pier where the lifeboats Y Class inflatable was launched and a search of the shoreline of Falmouth Inner Harbour was commenced at 21:08. The Inshore Lifeboat searched the coastline from Packet Quays up to the Falmouth Marina. At 21:19 the police advised the coastguard that they had located the missing person at one of the shops in the town and that all search units could return to station.

The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 21:30. The lifeboat was then refuelled, and was ready for service by 21:40.
