At 09:07 Falmouth Coastguard requested that the Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched to assist in the search for a missing women. The coastguard cliff rescue team and police had already been searching the coastline between Castle Beach and Maenporth when they had spotted what they believed to be a body in the water off Swanpool.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 09:13, arriving on scene off Swanpool Beach at 09:20. The coastguard guided the lifeboat to the location where the object had been seen, and the lifeboat crew were able to confirm that the object in question was in fact a painters overall which was floating in amongst some seaweed.

In view of this the inshore lifeboat was then asked to carryout a search of the coastline from Swanpool to Maenporth, which it commenced at 09:25. Shortly afterwards at 09:33 the Police contacted the Coastguard to advise them that the missing person had been located safe and well at Gweek, and all units could stand down.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 09:48 where it was refuelled, and was ready for service by 10:05.
