At 14:59 Falmouth Coastguard requested the launch of Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched to assist the Inshore Lifeboat with a search for a missing person between Porthkerris and Lowland Point in the Manacles. The Porthoustock Coastguard Mobile and Cliff Team were also tasked.

The All Weather Lifeboat left its pontoon berth at 15:12 and headed out of the harbour but at 15:21 as the lifeboat was clearing Pendennis Point it was confirmed that the that the missing person had been located ashore and all units were released to return to station.

The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 15:33. The lifeboat was then refuelled, and was ready for service by 15:45.

The inshore lifeboat had been initially tasked to assist in the search in view of the area to be covered, the tidal conditions and time elapsed since the person had last been seen it was decided to task both lifeboats.
