Boat: Inshore Lifeboat Crew: Dave Nicoll (Helmsman), Jonathan Hackwell, John Jeeves Location: Mylor Creek Shout Date: 27/09/2009 - 11:42 Weather:E 2, Slight Sea & Swell, Good Visibility, Sunny ![]() Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was on exercise off Killigerran Head when at 11:41 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat proceed towards Mylor Creek where the police had requested assistance in searching for an elderly person that had been reported missing. The Falmouth Coastguard Mobile was also tasked to assist in the search. The Inshore Lifeboat was underway at 11:42 and having arrived off Mylor Harbour commenced its search of the Mylor Creek at 11:53. At 11:58 the coastguard received a call from police control confirming that the missing person had been located on the foreshore by a neighbour and no further assistance was required so the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to station. The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 12:17 where it was refuelled, rehoused and was ready for service by 12:40. At the time of the initial call the coastguard had been dealing with two incidents in the Falmouth area, so requested the Inshore Lifeboat attend the search while the All Weather Lifeboat which was also on exercise was tasked to assist the 23ft Motor Boat Lely B which had suffered engine problems off Trefusis Point.
