Falmouth Atlantic 75 Class Inshore Lifeboat - RNLB Eve Pank (B-756)

At 20:24 Falmouth Coastguard requested that both Falmouth Inshore and All Weather Lifeboats be launched to assist the Police in a search for a missing person on the coast between St Anthony Lighthouse and Portscatho. The Portscatho Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team and various Police units including the Police Helicopter were also tasked to assist.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 20:31 and commenced its search at the Lighthouse at 20:39. Along with the All Weather Lifeboat a visual and thermal imaging search of the coastline was carried out working east towards Portscatho. At 21:04 Falmouth Coastguard reported that the Police had located the missing person in Portscatho and both lifeboats were released to return to station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 21:25 where it was refuelled, rehoused and was ready for service by 21:40.

The missing person was a German National who had been missing for a considerable time, and was scaled up as the evening light started to fade.
