Boat: All Weather Lifeboat Crew: Mark Pollard (Coxswain), John Blakeston, Snowy Angove, Nick Lewis, John Lower, Carl Beardmore, Jonathan Hackwell, James Box, Toni Partridge Location: Trefusis, St Mawes Castle area and Pendennis Point Shout Date: 12/06/2008 - 21:38 Weather:N 4, Slight Sea & Swell, Good Visibility, Clear Periods ![]() At 21:29 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched to assist the police in a search for a missing person. The Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat and Falmouth Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team were already searching the Pendennis Point area and additional information had indicated that the search should be expanded to include Trefusis, St Mawes Castle area and from the coastline from Pendennis Point to Maenporth. Police units and the Police Helicopter were also assisting. Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat left its pontoon berth at 21:38 and proceeded to Middle Point where at 21:47 the lifeboats Y-Boat was launched to search close inshore. The Lifeboat then proceeded to search the coastline at Trefusis and St Mawes Castle with negative results before returning to Pendennis Point to continue the search along the seafront accompanied by the Y-Boat. At 23:02 the coastguard advised that the police had located the missing person at the cemetery near Swanpool so all units were released to return to station. The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 23:16. The lifeboat was then refuelled, and was ready for service by 23:30. The Inshore Lifeboat, All Weather Lifeboat and its Y-Boat, and the Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team had completed a comprehensive search of the coastline, but the casualty had eventually been located further inland and had been taken to hospital for treatment.
