At 16:26 Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was launched by Falmouth Coastguard to assist a 2.5 metre Rigid Inflatable, which had broken down 1 mile Southeast of Killigerran Head. The sole occupant had made a 999 call on his mobile phone requesting assistance.

The Inshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at 16:39, and took the boat in tow for Falmouth. By 17:11 the boat was safely moored at Port Pendennis Marina, and the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to station.

The Rigid Inflatable had been returning from Mevagissey to Falmouth, when it had run out of fuel.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 17:15, where it was refuelled and ready for service by 17:30.
