Falmouth Atlantic 75 Class Inshore Lifeboat - RNLB Eve Pank (B756)

At 20:55 as Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was heading back into harbour from a previous service when Falmouth Coastguard requested that the Inshore Lifeboat head back out into Falmouth Bay to investigate reports of Red Flares being fired in the vicinity of Pennance Point.

The Inshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at Pennance Point at 20:59 and commenced a search of the surrounding area. Despite having also observed the flares while heading to the scene the inshore lifeboat crew were unable to locate anything either afloat or on the shoreline so at 21:34 the lifeboat was released to return to station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 21:48 where it was refuelled, rehoused and was ready for service by 22:05.

It is believed that the flares or fireworks had originated from the wooded area above Pennance Pont or the nearby Golf Club.
