Location: Off Kiln Quay, Falmouth Inner Harbour
Shout Date: 30/10/2000 (All day)

At 19:32 Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was launched by Falmouth Coastguard to assist two people who were reported to be in a small boat, clinging onto a yacht off Kiln Quay, in Falmouth Inner Harbour.

The Inshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at 19:35 and located the 18ft Yacht ""Patrus"" with two persons onboard tied alongside another yacht off Kiln Quay. The yacht had broken free from its moorings earlier in the day and had drifted ashore near Kiln Quay. The owners had been in the process of recovering it and were motoring it back to the Yacht Haven when its engine had failed, and had managed to grab hold of the last moored yacht as they were being blown out into the Carrick Roads.

The Inshore Lifeboat took the yacht in tow to the Yacht Haven where it was safely moored at 19:50.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 22:55, where it was refuelled and ready for service by 23:12.
