Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat - RNLB Eve Pank - B756

At 17:39 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following reports of two people in the water from a small inflatable off Greenbank Quay. Falmouth Coastguard Mobile was also tasked to assist.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 17:45 and arrived on scene off Greenbank at 17:48. It was soon established that the two people and the dinghy had been assisted ashore by the crew of a yachts tender, which had been nearby. The inshore lifeboat crew checked that the two children did not need any medical attention and after giving them some safety advice the inshore lifeboat was released to return to station at 18:10.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 18:20 where it was refuelled, rehoused and was ready for service by 18:35.

The children had been rowing around off Greenbank Quay and one of them had jumped into the water but had been unable to get back onboard. They were grateful for the help they had received from the passing yacht tender and were rather embarrassed by the whole incident.
