Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat - RNLB Eve Pank (B-756)

At 16:49 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following reports of Dory drifting close to the rocks at Pendennis Point with a yacht trying to recover it.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 16:54 and arrived on scene at 16:57. The yacht by this time had managed to get a towline on the dory and was towing it clear of the shore. Having confirmed that the Dory belonged to friends and that no other assistance was required, the yacht continued on its passage to the Helford while at 17:10 the Inshore Lifeboat was released to return to station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 17:16 where it was refuelled, rehoused and was ready for service by 17:30.

The Coastguard had tried to contact the yacht by radio but with no response and due to the close proximity to the rocks the decision was made to launch the Inshore Lifeboat in case any further assistance was required.
