At 18:57 Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat was launched by Falmouth Coastguard to search for a Catamaran which had been reported drifting off Messack Point, in the Carrick Roads, in adverse weather conditions.

The Inshore Lifeboat arrived on scene at 19:06 and commenced a search of the area. In view of the weather conditions, the failing light and visibility that at times was reduced to 200m, the crew of the Inshore Lifeboat requested that the Offshore Lifeboat also be launched to assist in the search.

Both Lifeboats carried out a search of the Carrick Roads, and at 19:58 when the area been thoroughly covered and no vessel or debris located the search was called off.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 20:16, where it was refuelled and ready for service by 20:30.
