At 12:00 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat be launched to assist the Inshore Lifeboat in the recovery of a body from the water in the Carrick Roads off Mylor. The lifeboat was requested to await the arrival of police officers before proceeding. The Offshore Lifeboat left her berth at 12:45 and arrived on scene at 13:03. With the assistance of the Inshore Lifeboat the body was recovered to the Offshore Lifeboat and was taken back to the lifeboat station where it was handed into the care of a local undertaker.

The Offshore Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 13:56, where it was ready for service by 14:33.
