Falmouth Atlantic 75 Class Inshore Lifeboat - RNLB Eve Pank (B756)

At 12:42 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following a report of a body in the water off Bosahan Cove in the Helford River. The Porthoustock Coastguard Mobile was also tasked to assist.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 12:48 and headed across Falmouth Bay to the Helford River, arriving on scene at 13:02. The body was located in the water off Bosahan Cove and recovered to the Inshore Lifeboat, before being taken back to Falmouth where it was landed into the care of the Police.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 13:48 where it was refuelled, rehoused and was ready for service by 14:25.

The body was later identified as being that of a local woman who had been reported missing earlier. The thoughts of all of us at the lifeboat station go out to her family and friends at this very difficult time.
