Falmouth Atlantic 75 class inshore lifeboat RNLB Eve Pank (B756)

At 13:48 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following reports of an empty punt adrift in the inner harbour. There was concern that someone might have fallen into the water.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 13:54 and arrived on scene at 13:57. By this time the punt had been picked up by a local boat and placed on a mooring nearby. It was soon confirmed that the boat had not been occupied and the owner was located who confirmed that he would collect it from the mooring. The inshore lifeboat was released to return to station at 14:18.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 14:24 where it was refuelled, rehoused and was ready for service by 14:40.

The punt had broken free and its origin was know to those involved allowing the situation to be resolved fairly quickly.
