Falmouth Atlantic 75 Class Inshore Lifeboat - RNLB Eve Pank (B756)

At 19:46 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following a call from a 47ft French Yacht reporting that they were in the Helford Area and had a crewman onboard that required urgent medical attention.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 19:53 and headed across the bay towards the Helford River. At 20:07 the yacht was located on a mooring off Durgan and following an initial assessment by the Inshore Lifeboat crew the casualty was transferred to the lifeboat before being taken to the Helford Passage where the casualty was handed into the care of the ambulance paramedics. The Inshore Lifeboat returned to the yacht and assisted in securing it to a suitable mooring before at 20:57 being released to return to its station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 21:22 where it was refuelled, rehoused and was ready for service by 21:40.

The yacht had initially been uncertain of its exact location, and the condition of the crewman meant that he needed urgent hospitalization.
