At 10:05 Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat was afloat awaiting the arrival of Ellen Macarthur and her trimaran B&Q when Falmouth Coastguard requested that the lifeboat proceed to the assistance of a person onboard the Cornish Crabber Mave in Falmouth Bay who was believed to be suffering a possible heart attack.

The All Weather Lifeboat located the Mave in a position 1 mile North of 2D buoy, and placed two crew onboard to assess the casualties condition. The yacht was then towed into calmer waters where the casualty was transferred to the lifeboat and was then taken ashore to a waiting ambulance. At 11:03 once the casualty was safely ashore the lifeboat was released to return to its escort duties.
