Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat - RNLB Eve Pank - B756

At 14:08 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Inshore Lifeboat be launched following a call from the occupant of a small inflatable tender who reported that his oar had broken and he was adrift in Falmouth Inner Harbour.

The Inshore Lifeboat launched from her slipway at 14:13 and located the dinghy and its occupant clinging onto a moored yacht off Customs House Quay at 14:17. The casualty and his dinghy were taken onboard the lifeboat and landed safely at Fishstand Quay at 14:24. The inshore Lifeboat was then released to return to station.

The Inshore Lifeboat was back on its slipway by 14:33 where it was refuelled, rehoused and was ready for service by 14:45.

The occupant of the dinghy had been returning ashore from his boat, which is moored in the harbour when one of its oars broke. With the prevailing weather conditions he had been unable to make any headway towards the shore and having called the coastguard he then managed to grab hold of the nearest yacht to await further assistance.
