Boat: All Weather Lifeboat Crew: Mark Pollard (Coxswain), David Proud, Alan Rowe, Alistair Heane, John Blakeston, John Lower, Andy Jenkin Location: Off Black Rock Shout Date: 15/09/2007 (All day) Weather:Calm, Slight Sea and Swell, Good Visibility, Partly Cloudy At 20:01 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched following reports of a motor cruiser, which had a light flashing SOS off Black Rock. Other vessels in the area were also requested to assist. Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat left its pontoon berth at 20:11 and headed out of the harbour, but at 20:18 as the lifeboat was passing Governor Buoy the Pilot Boat Arrow confirmed that they were alongside the 30ft Motor Cruiser Aylisha and that she was not in distress. The crew of the motor cruiser had unwittingly activated their automatic SOS light system and had been totally unaware of everyones concerns. At 20:20 the lifeboat was released but was then immediately retasked to assist the 28ft Fishing Vessel Blue Minstrel, which was broken down off Trefusis Point.
