Falmouth Severn Class All Weather Lifeboat - RNLB Richard Cox Scott (17-29)

At 13:24 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat be launched to assist the Motor Cruiser My Wendy which had reported being broken down off Gull Rock, in Veryan Bay.

Falmouth All Weather Lifeboat left its pontoon berth at 13:33 and heading up to the east around Zone Point arrived on scene at 13:53. A towline was passed to the vessel and the tow back to Falmouth commenced at 14:03. Once back in Falmouth Harbour the Motor Cruiser was taken to Port Pendennis Marina where it was safely berthed at 14:56.

The All Weather Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 15:02. The lifeboat was then refuelled, and was ready for service by 15:17.

The 27ft Motor Cruiser My Wendy with two persons onboard had come from Plymouth to Falmouth and was on its way back to Fowey when it suffered complete engine failure. Being unable to fix the problem the crew contacted the coastguard to request assistance.
