At 14:20 Falmouth Coastguard requested that Falmouth Offshore Lifeboat be launched to assist the 32ft Motor Boat ""Jenny"" with three persons onboard which had hit a submerged object at the entrance to the Helford River.

The Offshore Lifeboat left her pontoon berth at 14:30. The motor boat had dropped its anchor and one of its crew had entered the water to check on the damage, which appeared to be restricted to a damaged propeller. The Lifeboat arrived on scene at 14:45 and once the anchor had been recovered the motor boat was taken in tow back to Falmouth. The ""Jenny"" was safely placed on the Pontoons at Port Pendennis Marina at 15:40.

The Offshore Lifeboat was back alongside its pontoon berth by 15:45, where it was refuelled and ready for service by 16:00.
